More info

Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers had weathered some tough times prior to the release of their 1979 breakthrough album, Damn the Torpedoes, and the tour that promoted it, broadcast on the King Biscuit Flower Hour. Damn The Torpedoes would refine the bands sound and become a statement of intent for the future. Their performance in Houston TX in 1979 boasts a sizable chunk of the then new album with cuts from their two previous LPs, in an explosive set that has since become a valuable testament to the early, and often brilliant, live career of that most American institution; Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers.
